Natural Stone Care

When it comes to natural stone, one of the most important factors in its preservation is maintenance. Natural stone surfaces need to be cleaned regularly to avoid staining and discoloration.

Stone surfaces are porous and will absorb liquids. The stone itself will not stain, but the surface sealant can break down over time, allowing liquids to penetrate deeper into the stone. Some of our services include the following:

● Natural Stone Cleaning
● Natural Stone Sealing
● Natural Stone Honing
● Natural Stone Polishing
● Natural Stone stripping
● Natural Stone Repairs & Grout Repairs

Tile & Grout
Restoration

Tiles and grout restoration is a common solution when there’s damage and staining in your grout or tiles due to wear and tear. The materials that make up these elements of your floors can fade or suffer damage over time due to exposure to things like moisture, sunlight, chemicals and other factors. Anything that can damage the surface of your floors will be a threat to the integrity of your grout or tile and can ruin their appearance. Common problems with tiles include grout:

● Grout cracking
● Fading coloration
● Discoloration from dirt or unsightly spills
● Damage from adhesive failure during installation

Repairs & More

Cleaning and repairing tile and grout is a painstaking process, but one that’s crucial to making your home as clean and beautiful as it can be. Grout is porous, so it absorbs stains, dirt, and other contaminants. Grout also expands and contracts with temperature fluctuations. Over time, these factors cause grout to break down, leaving unsightly cracks and discoloration on the surface of your tile. Grout Nurse is the perfect way to combat this problem. Our advanced formula seeps deep into the pores of your tile and grout to remove dirt and stains, while also filling in cracks to restore a smooth surface. Some of our services include the following:

● Full Shower Restorations
● Tile Repairs & Spot Replacement
● Grout Repairs & Re-grouting
● Shower & Grout Re-caulking
● Granite Re-Sealing & Buffing
● Stone Stripping
● Shower Glass Cleaning & Sealing

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How long can I not step on the floors?

We understand the inconvenience of not being able to use your floors. To minimize the wait time, we utilize mobile fans during our process. As a result, each step has a dry time of approximately 20-30 minutes, allowing you to safely walk on the floors.

Is the process smelly and noisy?

We prioritize your comfort and well-being throughout our services. Our regular cleaning and natural stone sealer have very low odor. For porcelain/ceramic tiles, we use a grout spray sealer and stripper cleaners, which may have a medium odor. However, this odor dissipates within 30-60 minutes. During the cleaning process, our Shop Vac may create some noise around your entryway. However, we ensure that it is moved outside halfway through the process, minimizing any disturbance. The rest of our services are fairly quiet.

What guarantees do you provide?

Customer satisfaction is our top priority. We work tirelessly until you are fully satisfied with the work performed. Only then do we request full payment, ensuring your peace of mind.

What happens if I have a lot of furniture?

We understand that moving furniture can be a hassle for our clients. To ensure your convenience, we take photos of your furniture before the job begins. This allows us to move it around for you and place it back in its original spot after the work is completed. Alternatively, if you prefer, we can work around the furniture upon request.

How long can I not use my shower for?

The duration of not using your shower depends on whether it has been sealed or re-caulked. If your shower has been sealed, we recommend waiting for 24 hours before using it. In the case of re-caulking, we suggest waiting for 48 hours to ensure optimal results.

How long does a job take?

The duration of a job varies depending on its size. Typically, our jobs range from a couple of hours to a full day, and occasionally a second day. To expedite the process and minimize disruption in your life, we assign additional technicians for larger jobs. Rest assured, we strive to complete the work within a day, ensuring efficient service.

What warranty does your work come with?

We offer a 6-month warranty from the date of job completion for repairs and color sealing. However, if specified on the invoice, the warranty can be extended to 5 years by exclusively scheduling yearly maintenance cleaning performed by “Grout Nurse.” It’s important to note that the warranty does not cover the normal accumulation of dirt after cleaning, as it is considered normal wear and tear.

Do we have to be present during the job?

The choice to be present during the job is entirely up to you. We prioritize customer trust and safety by conducting thorough background checks on our technicians. Many of our clients choose to leave us at their home after getting to know us, returning towards the end of the job. Your comfort and peace of mind are our utmost concern.

Is everything pet-friendly?

We work in many homes with pets, and we take the well-being of your furry companions seriously. Everything we use is pet-friendly, as long as your pets do not step on areas with cleaner applied. During the cleaning process, pets are typically kept in a room on one side of the house or outside, and we switch spots accordingly. You can trust us to ensure the safety of your pets throughout the service.

How much training do our technicians have?

Unlike many companies that train their technicians for only one week, we take training seriously. Our technicians undergo comprehensive training for a period of 1 to 3 months. They then work as helpers for approximately 6 to 12 months under close supervision. This ensures that they become professional and reliable before being assigned as main technicians for our clients. We believe in investing in our team’s expertise to deliver the highest quality service.

What outcome should I expect?

When it comes to regular cleaning and clear sealing, you can expect a significant improvement of 60 to 80%. Over time, dirt and soil can work their way into grout, leading to permanent stains if not properly maintained. Our grout color staining, on the other hand, produces a brand new look, achieving a 100% improvement by changing the color of your grout, making it consistent, and providing a seal. We aim to deliver exceptional results that meet and exceed your expectations.

How do you restore natural stone?

Restoring natural stone requires a specialized approach. Similar to the cleaning process, we use alkaline solutions and degreasers. We utilize a 17″ buffer with resin-diamond infused grit pads to hone and sand down the stone, creating a consistent base layer. After that, we polish the stone to achieve the desired shine, using higher grit resin-diamond infused pads. Finally, we apply a clear solvent-based penetrating sealer to provide long-lasting protection. For stone counters and showers, we utilize hand polishing with 4″ dry pads connected to a vacuum to extract all the dust, ensuring a pristine finish.

Are you insured?

Yes, we are fully insured. While we have never had to use our insurance due to our commitment to safety and quality work, we maintain full coverage to protect our clients and provide added peace of mind.

How long does everything last?

The longevity of our services depends on various factors, including wear and proper maintenance. After completing the job, our clear sealer typically lasts between 2 to 4 years, while our color stain/sealer can last for 8 to 10 years. Grout caulking repairs usually have a lifespan of 1 to 3 years, depending on movement and wear. For natural stone polishing, you can expect the results to last between 5 to 7 years with proper care and maintenance.

How do you clean?

Our cleaning process involves several steps to ensure thorough and effective results. We begin with a chemical pre-treatment, utilizing either an alkaline or acid cleaner based on the surface being cleaned. Next, we meticulously hand scrub all the grout lines. Following that, we use a water pressure machine for washing and a vacuum extraction method to remove dirt and debris. It’s important to note that we do not use steam, as the intense heat can damage grout and stone over time.

We hope these answers have addressed your concerns and provided you with a clearer understanding of our services. If you have any further questions or would like to schedule a consultation, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We look forward to assisting you with your flooring and grout needs.
